01 / The Brief

A Cork SME doesn't search for "a health and safety provider." It searches for one course, one date, one problem.

Cork Safety Services runs certified training, Manual Handling, Safe Pass, Fire Safety, First Aid, alongside the documentation and premises checks that go with it, mostly for small and medium Cork businesses without a safety officer on staff.

The site needed to work for someone who arrives already knowing exactly what they need: a specific course, a Safety Statement, a PAT test, not someone browsing a generic services page. That meant structuring the whole site around three clear categories rather than one long list.

03 / The Challenge

Training, documentation and premises safety are three different buying decisions.

A business booking Manual Handling for six warehouse staff is in a different headspace to one that needs a Safety Statement written before an audit, or one that just needs its fire extinguishers checked. Treating all of it as one undifferentiated "services" page would have buried the thing each visitor actually came for.

The build splits the site into three service categories, Employee Training, Health & Safety Documentation, Premises Safety, each with its own landing page and its own set of individual course and service pages underneath. Someone searching for "Safe Pass Cork" or "PAT testing Cork" lands on a page built for that exact query, not a homepage they have to dig through.

06 / What we did

01 / Structure

Built the site around three categories, not one

Employee Training, Documentation and Premises Safety each became their own section with dedicated landing pages, so the site's structure matches how people actually search rather than how the business is organised internally.

02 / Build

WordPress, built in Elementor

A course and service-page template that scales, new courses or services get added without a rebuild, and the client can edit copy and pricing without coming back to us for it.

03 / Content

Plain-English copy, not audit language

Course and documentation copy written for a business owner reading it at 9pm, not a compliance officer, "what this covers and why you need it," rather than legislative phrasing.

09 / One thing we're watching

Traffic we can stand behind.

The site's demo case-study and blog sections still carry placeholder content from the original build and haven't been replaced with real project work or articles yet. It's a live item rather than something to leave out of this write-up.
